Fish Populations for Lexington Hills Catch and Release Program

During 2021 and 2022, four species of fish have been maintained in the Lexington Hills stream and pond systems. Triploid Grass Carp for aquatic grass control, Large Mouth Bass for control of invasive bull frog species, Bluegill for catch and release fun and in late 2022, 100 Trout were added to the deeper thus, cooler Island Pond waters. In conversation with folks fishing, all species have been captured including  Bass and Trout. As summer turns to fall, we will again be adding to this success story.

As this is a “Catch & Release” program, please be sure to use only barbless hooks.
